Dubai Police Trainer Summit receives more than 400 specialists

DUBAI (ALETIHAD)

Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police, His Excellency Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, recently inaugurated the 'Trainer Summit' at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City. 

Focussing on the evolution of training within Dubai Police from its inception to the present, the summit saw participation of over 400 trainers from various departments and stations. 

The opening ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including retired Major General Nasser Abdurrazzaq Alrazooqi, Major General Saeed Hamad Al Malik, Director of Al Rashidiya Police Station, Major General Eid Thani Hareb, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, Major General Dr. Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of Jebel Ali Police Station, Major General Dr. Ali Singel, Health Advisor of Dubai Police, Brigadier Badran Al Shamsi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Academic and Training Affairs, and Brigadier Ahmed Mardas, Director of the General Department of Training.

Advanced Training System
Al Shamsi highlighted that Dubai Police has a precise strategy and advanced training system across various police and security disciplines. 

"These expertise has made Dubai Police a destination for other police and security agencies worldwide to train and learn best practices and technologies. The summit is an effective platform for trainers and experts to exchange knowledge, skills, and experiences, enhancing the force's performance," he explained. 

Sustainability
He further emphasised that strategic objectives and Dubai Police's directions are achieved through training and qualification. 

"The General Department of Training organises the annual summit to ensure the sustainability of pioneering training within Dubai Police. Previous summits have successfully generated creative ideas supporting the training strategy," he added. 

Intense Agenda
Mardas said that the Trainer Summit is a crucial annual event addressing key topics to enhance trainers' and experts' knowledge within Dubai Police. 

"The agenda and programmes are selected based on a diagnostic study of current and future training needs, impacting employees' performance and enabling them to apply global best practices in policing and security," he noted. 

The summit included various sessions, such as a historical overview of training led by retired Alrazooqi, and a discussion on police readiness.

Workshops focused on injury prevention during training, with direct engagement between trainers and specialists from Dubai Police.

Recognition
The summit honoured several retired trainers for their significant contributions to training and qualification within Dubai Police.

Additionally, it celebrated veteran trainers and the first trainers in the 'People of Determination' category.

'Trainer Connect' Initiative
The summit launched the 'Trainer Connect' initiative, a new smart service for Dubai Police trainers that enhances communication and addresses professional and personal needs.

The initiative supports trainers' efforts across all specialities within Dubai Police, aiming to achieve strategic training goals.

Sessions and Activities
The event featured brainstorming sessions on trainers' job satisfaction, future training with experts, and the qualification system for sports trainers.

A health exhibition provided nutritional and fitness guidance, with participation from various health organisations.

Historical Training Session
A main session titled 'The History of Training' included insights from Alrazooqi, moderated by Senkal, discussing the evolution of Dubai Police training, tools, methods, and facilities, including overseas training and practices.

Police Readiness
Key figures, such as the Director of the Policy Department, Captain Dr Abdullah Al Mawali, and others, discussed police readiness culture, policies, physical fitness, and the role of trainers and employees in readiness.

Injury Prevention Workshop
Moreover, the summit hosted a training workshop on preventing training injuries, led by specialists Fatima Al Lanjawi and Asma Al Zarouni, which outlined trainers' roles in injury prevention during training seasons.
