RABI HAMAMSAH (ABU DHABI)

The International Exhibition for National Security and Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2024) provides an ideal platform to network, conduct business and showcase innovation, according to participants.
In conversation with Aletihad, they said that over the last decade, the UAE invested significantly in the cybersecurity field in order to protect its digital transformation and technical infrastructure from potential attacks.

The UAE’s interest in cybersecurity is evident in the establishment of the Cybersecurity Council and the National Cybersecurity Authority, in addition to implementing many regulatory policies and rules such as the National Cybersecurity Strategy to protect institutions and companies from cyber-attacks.
Taking notice of this threat, the UAE is always keen to organise and host international conferences and exhibitions specialised in cybersecurity to spread awareness regarding the potential risks of e-crimes and cyberattacks, as well as offering high-tech companies the chance to be involved in the UAE’s cybersecurity market.

Spanning three days, ISNR Abu Dhabi brings together 118 delegations and 184 exhibitors from 33 countries.

Speaking to Aletihad, Tamby Alasker, Sales Director at G&D, a cybersecurity solutions company based in Germany, expressed the company’s interest to take part in this year’s edition of ISNR as well as their keenness to be part of the UAE’s cybersecurity market.

“We have been doing business in this region for the past 20 years. G&D is almost 40 years old. We have recently opened an office here in the UAE, in Dubai, because we see the UAE as the hub of the region,” he said.

Alasker also shared G&D’s future plans in the UAE’s cybersecurity market. “We did an investment of opening an office here to be closer to our customers in the UAE and the region. As an advanced and developed nation, the UAE is always one of the leading countries in the world when it comes to technology and latest innovations, and many successful companies achieved success here in the UAE,” he added.

The UAE cybersecurity market size is estimated at  $0.59 billion in 2024, and is expected to reach $1.07 billion by 2029, growing at a CAGR of 12.72% during the forecast period 2024-2029, according to a recent report by Mordor Intelligence for Market Research.

Frederic Tribet, Business Unit Manager of Cegelec Defense Company in France, said the UAE cybersecurity market holds huge potential.

“I choose the UAE as it is the only country where I am going at this time to develop my business in cybersecurity. Cegelec Defense is a French company, located in Toulouse, established in 1977, and since then, it has been working with the French army for developing health sector cybersecurity,” Tribet said.

He expressed hope that this year’s edition of ISNR would bring more business and collaboration with UAE companies.

“I attend ISNR every year, because it has a history of cooperation between French companies and UAE companies in all fields, especially cybersecurity and defence. So my focus now is to further explore avenues of cooperation in the fields of cybersecurity, defence, and medical systems,” Tribet added.
