The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) announced that the completion rate of the unified address system “Onwani” (My Address), as part of the DMT’s “Addressing and Spatial Guidance” project, has reached 87% in Abu Dhabi City, 79% in Al Ain City, and 99% in Al Dhafra Region.

Al Hashimi noted that the OnwaniClick application has been downloaded by 9,000 users via the Apple Store and Google Play.
The DMT official urged the public to benefit from the unified addressing and spatial guidance project for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as it facilitates access and efficient mobility to various destinations in the emirate.
The project meets the ambitious visions of making the capital, Abu Dhabi, a leading global centre by applying the highest global standards in geographical addressing and guidance systems while preserving its rich heritage, Al Hashimi said.
She noted that the Onwani project enhances logistics services, assists in faster and more accurate delivery of goods and services, improves emergency response times, and enhances planning and business operations by providing accurate information about the required address shared by the user.
Onwani provides all data and information related to the buildings and establishments’ addresses and street names. It is now available for use on global navigation and map applications, such as Google Maps. The project places all data, including building number and street name, at the fingertips of the emirate’s residents and visitors, making it easier and quick to find loacations in Abu Dhabi
Regarding the environmental and health importance of the unified addressing and spatial guidance project, Al Hashimi noted that it helps reduce the carbon footprint of vehicles and fuel consumption by shortening distances through accurate and easy location identification, thus preserving the environment and enhancing public health.
