The Institute of Oriental Studies and the Arabic Language Department at the university witnessed the opening ceremony of the Arabic Language and Arab Culture Hall in the presence of an intensive academic audience.

This comes as part of the cooperation agreement signed between the Sharjah Arabic Language Academy and Al Farabi Kazakh National University in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The opening of the Arabic Language and Arab Culture Hall comes in implementation of the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the Sharjah Arabic Language Academy, who directed the establishment of the hall to be added to the series of initiatives through which His Highness supports all areas of culture and those working in it.

Secretary-General of the Academy, Dr. Mohamed Saffi Al Mostaghanemi, delivered a speech at the ceremony highlighting the efforts exerted by the Emirate of Sharjah in empowering the Arabic language.

He said that the hall contains all modern means for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.

Furthermore, it is equipped with the latest furniture and has a specialised linguistic library, in which the organisers have dedicated an entire section for books by the Ruler of Sharjah and publications of the Academy.

The hall also includes banners and artistic paintings that narrate the history of the UAE and the strong international relations between the two countries, consolidating bridges of communication and rapprochement between the two cultures.
