On the final day of Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week 2024, H.E. Dr. Omniyat Al Hajri, the Executive Director of the Community Health Sector at the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, outlined some of the significant advances in the healthcare showcased during the event.
“It was a very exciting week, filled with transformative thoughts and ideas, as well as an exchange of experiences. We were very proud to share some of the important advances in the healthcare system in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. These advancements have put us on the map, particularly the comprehensive infrastructure for data exchange, including the Malaffi system and its integration with multiple disease registers,” Dr. Al Hajri said.
Dr. Al Hajri also introduced the SEHHI programme, a prominent initiative launched to promote healthy eating and nutrition in Abu Dhabi.
This programme encompasses health awareness and education, food labelling, calorie displays on menus, and even a futuristic supermarket. SEHHI also targets schools, with licensed vendors providing healthy food options and adhering to a school canteen guideline.
Med42 Launch
On the sidelines of the address, Safeya Almqtri, Deputy Group Chief Operations Officer at M42 and Acting Chief Executive Officer at Mubadala Health Dubai, told Aletihad about the company’s launch of “Med42”, an AI tool allowing individuals and professionals to access medical information equivalent to CHAT GPT 3.5.
Explaining the service, she said: “The latest version used more than 70 billion parameters and algorithms and analytics in order to achieve this level of accuracy and efficacy to support decisions in the medical field, as well as to support individuals who have questions about medical conditions.”
She also noted the inaugural event has cemented Abu Dhabi’s position at the forefront of medical innovation and technology, stating: “This exhibition positions Abu Dhabi at the centre of medical innovation and technology and opens the discussion around innovations such as artificial intelligence, the latest in genomics, and we are excited for what comes forward.”
