An ecologically minded tour of Abu Dhabi’s wildlife and natural parks would not be complete without a trip to Emirates Park Zoo and Resort, a must-see in the Bahia area.

The zoo is well-known for offering a haven for animals, and is a favourite destination for tourists and residents of the UAE.

The park has achieved many prestigious awards from local and international entities for its care for animals and nature, and in 2018, it was recognised as the “Best Zoo in the Middle East” at the Parks and Recreation Development Conference in Dubai.

In addition to the awards, the park recently obtained full membership in the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), as well as the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), highlighting the park’s commitment to nature conservation, animal welfare, and cooperation with international nature conservation organisations.

The park seamlessly integrates a range of environmental, recreational, and educational facilities, including a zoo, a resort, a veterinary medical centre, shops, restaurants, catering outlets, and even a special hotel for pets.

Visitors can enjoy seeing more than 1,125 different individual animals and around 250 species from around the world, ranging from huge creatures like elephants to the tiniest snails.

Emirates Park Zoo also offers various interactive experiences with animals, such as breakfast with giraffes, lunch with big cats, and dinner with elephants, each uniquely designed for visitors to spread awareness of wild animals’ important ecological role.

Children are also welcome in the park and can participate in free activities like interactive educational workshops.

Emirates Park Zoo has also launched many environmental initiatives outside of the park, such as the Beach Clean-Ups initiative, which aims to protect marine life and the local ecosystem.

The park continues to offer visitors exceptional experiences in terms of hospitality, entertainment, and leisure activities, making it a prime destination in the region to view the wonders of wildlife.
