Taking part in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2024, the Republic of Türkiye's large pavilion offers diverse publications catering to various age groups.

Head of Publications Department, and spokesman for the Turkish Pavilion, Nizar Kara, told WAM that his country is taking part in this year's event with representatives in literature and publishing.

He mentioned that they chose to participate following the success of last year's event when Turkiye was the guest of honour at the 2023 exhibition.

Kara emphasised the strong cultural exchange between the UAE and Turkiye and their dedication to strengthening this collaboration.

Additionally, he pointed out that last year's edition showcased a strong presence with large pavilions and was an exceptional opportunity for them.

He pointed out that last year's fair attracted more than 20 publishers and writers from Turkiye.

They capitalised on this opportunity last year to organise literary events aimed at strengthening ties with Arab and Emirati publishers.

Moreover, they held business meetings, resulting in the signing of numerous copyright contracts and sales and purchase agreements.

Kara further explained that Turkish books have been translated into Arabic and featured in several Arab pavilions, reflecting fruitful cooperation in the cultural field, particularly with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center for translating Turkish books.

He explained that approximately 20 books have been allocated for translation.
