The Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) has declared that the end of the 2023-2024 academic year for students will align with the commencement of Eid Al Adha on June 15. The third semester’s end-of-year examinations are slated to occur from June 5 to June 14 across all educational tiers in both government and private schools adhering to the Ministry of Education (MoE) curriculum.

This means that students who successfully complete their exams can anticipate an early onset of summer vacation, coinciding with the Eid Al Adha celebrations.

The ESE also said that the academic year’s final results will be announced on July 5. Students needing to retake examinations, due to not meeting the minimum passing criteria in three or more subjects, will have the opportunity to do so between July 8 and July 12.

For these students, as well as the teaching, technical, and administrative staff, the summer recess will commence on July 15, 2024. The third semester includes a trial test period from May 29 to June 4, alongside practical exams for Group B subjects.

The 2024-2025 academic year is set to begin on August 26 and conclude on June 27, 2025, with a total of 182 instructional days. The Winter Break is scheduled from December 16, 2024, to January 5, 2025, while the Spring Break will span from March 24, 2025, to April 13, 2025. These dates are in accordance with the school calendar ratified by the Cabinet for the three-year period from 2023 to 2025.

The calendar’s design aims to ensure equitable educational opportunities in private schools, provide a sufficient number of instructional days to achieve the required learning outcomes, and assist educational partners in planning the academic year. It underscores the importance of all educational institutions to adhere to the stipulated minimum number of instructional days.
