ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) addressed drivers via X, formerly Twitter, encouraging them to pay their traffic fines early in order to avoid accumulating penalties.
The initiative Bader wa Istafed, which translates to "Act and Benefit," is part of ADP's efforts and priorities to ensure the local community's wellbeing and enhance their quality of services.
As part of the programme, drivers can receive a 35 perfent discount on their fines if they pay within the first 60 days of committing the violation, excluding dangerous offenses.
Additionally, they could get a 25 percent discount for payments made after 60 days up to a year from the date the fine was issued.
Moreover, drivers have the option to pay their fines in installments through banks with zero interest over a period of 12 months.
Notably, this offer is valid for credit cards issued by banks and financial institutions that are contracted with ADP's General Headquarters.
Payments can be made through the official government platform, TAMM, or directly at service centers to ensure a seamless process.
The initiative aims to motivate vehicle owners to settle their fines promptly and contribute to enhancing road safety in the emirate.
