Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwomen of the Family Development Foundation, the 15th EmiratesSkills National Competition (ESNC) will take place in Abu Dhabi.
The event, which was organised by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), will be held between April 22-24 at ADNEC Abu Dhabi.
The three-day competition will showcase a selection of talented youth from across the UAE competing in 26 technical and vocational skills.
These include aircraft maintenance, industrial control, mechanical engineering cad, automobile technology, programming, web technologies, graphic design technology, electronics, among others.
Notably, ESNC serves as a national platform celebrating technical and vocational education, attracting UAE National youth aged 16-21, except for the aircraft maintenance skill, which accepts competitors up to age 24.
The competition includes skills from the engineering, industrial and professional sectors, aligned with future job market demands, reflecting ACTVET's strategic vision and the directives of the wise leadership to nurture and equip national talent for global competitiveness.
Moreover, the competition showcases young UAE National students aged 12-15, who will compete in seven skills: Future Coder, Autonomous Mobile Robotics, Automobile Technology, Public Speaking, Electronics, Electrical Installations and Mechanical Engineering CAD.
The aim of the tournament is to instil a competitive spirit in Emirati youth from an early age and ensure the development of national competencies aligned with the aspirations of UAE and the directives of the wise leadership.
In addition to the main competition, an international friendly skills competition will be held, featuring competitors from 17 countries worldwide.
UAE National youth will compete in various technical and vocational skills along with peers from different nations, gearing up for the upcoming WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France, in September 2024.
