Al Dhafra Innovation Center leverages state-of-the-art technology to cultivate a culture of sustainability. Through interactive exhibits and virtual reality experiences, it educates visitors, particularly students, about the significance of clean energy.

With over 1,000 visitors since its inception, the centre showcases models of sustainable projects and elucidates the production process at the Shams solar power station.

Ali Al Mosabi, Director of the Shams solar power station, noted that Al Dhafra Innovation Center comprises nine sections, displaying detailed models of Masdar’s projects and an interactive wall illustrating the production process at Shams solar station. A designated area showcases key clean energy projects in the UAE, demonstrating progress and innovation in renewable energy use and their contribution to environmental sustainability.

The centre actively engages in awareness-raising efforts through interactive shows utilising digital technology like the interactive wall and industrial innovations.

Al Mosabi stressed that the Shams solar station is a significant achievement for the UAE in renewable energy and sustainability. Generating over 100 megawatts of electricity annually, it reduces harmful emissions and solidifies the UAE’s position as a global leader in renewable energy.
The UAE has established itself as a pioneer in the field of energy through developing and establishing advanced facilities. The UAE’s energy strategy, spearheaded by visionary leadership, aims to increase the share of renewables to 44% of its produced energy by 2050.
