ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters have announced a comprehensive security and traffic plan in anticipation of the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr holiday. The integrated approach aims to bolster safety and security measures while offering support to citizens, residents, and visitors. 

The Abu Dhabi Police noted that the plan includes intensifying police and security patrols on internal and external roads and tourist spots that witness congestion during Eid days and near commercial centres, markets, and public parks.     

The Directorates of Traffic Patrol in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafrah region, emphasised its keenness to always achieve the highest safety levels on roads through their field presence to ensure the smooth traffic movement, noting that several scenarios and traffic plans have been developed that contribute to the traffic flow and prevent traffic jams during Eid Al-Fitr holiday. 

The Abu Dhabi Police urge public to strict adherence to laws prohibiting the use and trade of fireworks during Eid celebrations. Additionally, they appeal to young motorists to refrain from engaging in reckless behaviours such as dangerous driving or organising races near of residential areas. 

The motorists are reminded to comply with the traffic regulations, reduce speeds, and avoid destractions such as using cell phones while driving, according to the Abu Dhabi Police.   

The Abu Dhabi Police pointed out that the Command and Control Centre 999, continues to work  24/7 to receive calls and reports.
