The Social Media Ambassador Award, now in its 3rd edition, has focused on enhancing the ambitious UAE cultural scene, establishing a cultural and creative role that inspires youth. The award has widened its scope to include Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and their residents. It embraces any innovative project or initiative in the field of social media communication, celebrating distinguished individuals who have left a unique and positive impact on others.

Speaking to Aletihad, Hajar Al-Essa, Secretary-General of the Emirates Creativity Association and General Coordinator of the Social Media Ambassador Award, said that the award's values reflect the authenticity that has made the UAE a haven for people from over 192 countries. This is embodied in the stories of creative and accomplished youth from various cultures, and their commitment to their heritage and roots, she said.

Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Emirates Creativity Association, has made significant efforts to expand the award's scope by embracing GCC citizens to build strong relationships, cooperation, coordination, integration, and interconnectedness among GCC countries in all fields, Al Essa said.

The award criteria apply to GCC youth, reflecting the common characteristics that embody the historical, social, and cultural reality, she said, adding that GCC countries are characterised by deep religious and cultural ties, convergence, and unity.

These factors have been strengthened by the geographical landscape and the long-standing presence of the region's population, facilitating communication and interaction through traditional means such as social visits, fostering cohesion and homogeneity in identity and values, she added.

Al Essa said the award was an inspiring experience that "provides participants with an inspiring experience, rich in content, unique in its impact". She said today's youth understand the true and great meaning of the legacy of the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

She affirmed that launching the third edition of the award constitutes an exceptional cultural achievement that accentuates the UAE's record of awards. "The award is the first of its kind and the most distinguished in the history of awards in the GCC countries, introducing our youth to the rooted Emirati and GCC values. It invites youth to create distinctive cultural content that reflects tolerance, coexistence, and reinforces brotherhood and humanity," she said.

Al Essa continued: "In the third edition, we look forward to the participation of more intellectually cultured youth with creative ideas, who combine creativity and knowledge, and use their skills to inscribe their achievements on the nation's pages. Their posts on social media platforms, as decent citizens and role models, should reflect the UAE's and GCC's positive values."
