The Community Police Directorate of the Criminal Security Department participated in the "Breaking Fast" initiative organised by the Bani Yas Comunity Presence Centre of the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) Authority.
The initiative involves the distribution of iftar meals to drivers just before sunset.
Deputy Director of the Community Police Department, Major Saif Ali Al Jaberi, explained that the initiative has witnessed a great turnout in terms of participating staff members who took part in distributing iftar meals.
Additionally, volunteers worked on educating drivers on the importance of adhering to traffic laws for the safety of all road users.
Al Jaberi noted that the initiative comes as an embodiment of the UAE's wise leadership and their efforts to solidify noble social and humanitarian values by encouraging voluntary work, as well as promoting the spirit of solidarity and cooperation within the community.
He noted that this is an extension of the values intstilled by the Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, regarding the importance of humanitarian work, helping others, unity, giving during the holy month of Ramadan.
