Abrahamic Family House honours winners of Eminence Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque Quran Competition

The Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi hosted a ceremony on Saturday, March 30, 2024, to honour the winners of the first edition of the Eminence Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque Quran Competition, organised in collaboration with the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments.

One hundred male and female competitors representing various nationalities competed in this year's contest. 

Those honoured for their impressive memorisation skills were 38 male and female contestants of various nationalities who competed in five levels of memorisation: the entire Holy Quran, 20 juz', 10 juz', 5 juz', and 1 juz'.

Abdulla Al Shehhi, Acting Operations Executive Director of the Abrahamic Family House, said: "The Eminence Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque Quran Competition is one of the most important programmes organised by the mosque over the past period, where we have witnessed a beautiful competition among memorisers of the Quran who won first place. This competition was held at the mosque over five consecutive days."

In the men's competition, the following four winners were honoured for memorising the entire Quran: Osama Abdul Muin Daas, Ibrahim Muammar Ba Nabila, Jamil Ahmed Jahir Uddin, and Khaled Hafiz Abdullah. 

For the memorisation of 20 juz' of the Holy Quran, Abdulla Saber Abdelshafie, Omar Muammer Ali, and Qutaiba Abdul Muin Daas won the prize. The third category winners for memorising 10 juz' were Nasr Abdelmeguid Abdelhamid, Rashed Ali Omar Abdulla, Abdelrahman Saber Abdelshafie, and Hamad Omer Hamad. Mohamed Ramadan Abdel Motagali, Yehya Arbouj, and Huthaifa Hafez Habibullah were honoured for memorising five juz'. For the fifth category, Saeed Saif Salem A, Theyab Mohamed AlKayyoomi, and Saif Ali Omar were honoured.

In the women's category, Habeeba Ahmed Ismail and Samina Mohd Wali were honoured for memorising the whole Quran. Abrar Mahmoud Hussein, Zainab Salmeen Al Hadhrami, Zahraa Faisal Mamoo Vachapurath, and Fatima Faisal Mamoo Vachapurath were honoured for memorising 20 juz'. 

For memorising 10 juz', Meera Amjad Wajih, Mariam Ahmed Mezid, and Mariam Mohamed Tageldin were honoured. Local winners Salma Fahad Alharthi, Reem Hasan Al Qahtani, and Mariam Ali AlKhoori were honoured in the same category. 

For memorising 5 juz', Arwa Elbakouri, Joody Ashraf Said, and Mariam Saber Abdelshafie were honoured, along with local winners Mouza Rashed Alnuaimi, Maryam Abdulla Alnuaimi, and Fatima Sulaiman Alnuaimi. In the final category Tahani Salem Alharthi, Fatima Muammar Ali, and Amna Khalid Aldhanhani were honoured.

"The Abrahamic Family House embodies the mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence between the three religions in their highest form. It is visited by worshippers of the three religions: Islam, Christianity, and Judaism, to perform their own religious rituals, each in its own house of worship. In a way that reflects the essence of the message of Islam, which is based on mercy, love, tolerance, and acceptance of others." Al Shehhi stated.
