Sandooq Al Watan honoured two of Emirati youth on Tuesday who successfully completed the six-month Mustaqbali specialised training programme.
This programme aims to empower and support young Emiratis in starting their entrepreneurship journeys and transforming their ideas into projects.
It provided each of the honoured entrepreneurs with a grant of Dh100,000 to support their projects.
It also offered free-of-charge technical and financial advice and follow-up from Sandooq Al Watan's experts.
Director-General of Sandooq Al Watan, Yasser Al Gergawi, honoured Mohammed Khalifa Al Zaabi, who launched a digital application in cooperation with veterinary clinics and animal care salons in the UAE to provide their services through the application.
In addition to integrated care, the application provides a passport for the pet, a vaccination card, and an attested certificate of the animal's medical history.
Al-Reem Al Breiki, who launched a project, was also honoured for her mobile children's salon and studio that provides them with at-home services.
Al Gergawi said, “Empowering and supporting Emirati youth is one of Sandooq Al Watan's top priorities as we seek to serve as a launchpad for their entrepreneurship journeys and help realise their projects, which drive development and sustainability.”
He noted that Sandooq Al Watan's methodology to achieve its mission is based on three pillars: practical and theoretical training by global experts; support and guidance; and following up to ensure the success of projects.
Al Gergawi pointed out that the Mustaqbali programme was launched by Sandooq Al Watan in 2023 and 32 young Emiratis aged 18 to 35 joined.
Notably, number of Arab and foreign experts with extensive experience in the field were assigned to supervise the programme.
Al Gergawi noted that all the ideas presented by graduates were referred to a specialised committee to select the top projects, before offering them funding and supervision.
He also said that some of the projects have begun to log successes, including those honoured on Tuesday.
Al Gergawi said, "The Board of Directors of Sandooq Al Watan, chaired by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, always remind us that the most important goal of Sandooq Al Watan is to commit to supporting Emirati talent to pursue entrepreneurship and establish new companies, as well as all efforts aimed at transforming their innovative ideas into successful practical and commercial projects."
