The General Command of the Abu Dhabi Police (ADP), in cooperation with the Absher Ya Watan volunteer team and other key partners, continue to distribute Iftar meals as part of the Ramadan Baskets initiative.
A large number of volunteers helped pass out the meals to drivers and road users at two locations, one in Abu Dhabi and the other in Al Ain city.
Director of the Department of Ceremonies and Public Relations, General Saif Saeed Al-Shamsi, said that the initiative contributes to ADP's efforts to enhance the culture of volunteer work and strengthen their communication with community members.
It also seeks to promote traffic safety and reduce road accidents around Iftar time, he said adding that drivers should abide by traffic laws, avoid speeding, and keep an eye out for pedestrians.
