Airports Council International has ranked Zayed International Airport among the top three airports worldwide in arrival experience in its latest annual Airport Quality Awards.
The awards are conducted in partnership with travel technology firm Amadeus.
Results were based on 595,000 surveys collected from travellers in 2023 accessing 400 participating airports from 109 countries. Surveys were collected live on-site as travellers made their way through the airports.
Zayed Airport ranked alongside Kempegowda International Airport and Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in India as the airports with the top 20% overall satisfaction score at arrival.
Salalah Airport in Oman also ranked highly winning an award in all five of the departures categories which included "Best Airports by Size and Region", "Most Dedicated Staff", "Easiest Airport Journey", "Most Enjoyable Airport", and "Cleanest Airport".
"It's encouraging to see continued commitment to customer experience at airports across the world demonstrated again by the ASQ Awards. Over the past few years many airports have applied technologies like self-service and biometrics to improve the experience for passengers across key airport touchpoints," said Rudy Daniello, Executive Vice President of Amadeus Airport & Airline Operations.
"What we're seeing now is a desire to move to the next level by working more collaboratively with airlines and other partners to better manage the impact of disruption. The management of disruptions is a defining issue for passengers, so we look forward to working closely with the industry as it develops new approaches that deliver improved outcomes for passengers."
