SAEED AHMED (AJMAN)
The “Ramadan Aman” (Ramadan is Safe) campaign is set to launch its 10th edition during the holy month of Ramadan, with Bashayer Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Organising Committee, announcing this year’s ambitious outreach. This year’s campaign will mobilise over 10,000 volunteers to distribute 500,000 Iftar meals across 31 locations throughout the UAE, Al Hammadi said.
Organised by Al Ihsan Charity Association in Ajman, the campaign has garnered considerable support from various government agencies, highlighting its significance.
Over the last decade, “Ramadan Aman” has attracted more than 100,000 volunteers from diverse nationalities, contributing over 5.1 million volunteer hours and distributing 4.5 million Iftar meals to those observing the fast, Al Hammadi confirmed.
Al Hammadi emphasised the growing interest in volunteer work and the increased involvement of entities in the campaign during a press conference. She also announced an expansion of the campaign’s reach to Al Dhafra Region for the first time, aiming to provide Iftar meals to travellers at the country’s borders.
This expansion also seeks to encourage university students in the region to partake in the campaign’s activities, further broadening the initiative’s impact and fostering a spirit of community service and unity during Ramadan.
