ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) brought smiles to the faces of children battling cancer at Burjeel Hospital in the Mohamed Bin Zayed City branch.
The event aimed to fulfil the dreams of these young patients by introducing them to the Child Patrol of the Traffic and Security Patrols Department in the Central Operations Sector.
Major General Mahmoud Youssef Al Baloushi, the Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Department, emphasised ADP’s commitment to bringing happiness to the community.
He highlighted the importance of supporting such societal and humanitarian initiatives, underlining the ongoing collaboration with various institutions to alleviate the burden on patients undergoing treatment and bravely facing their challenges at healthcare facilities.
The children expressed immense joy in getting to know the goals of the Child Patrol, learning about its components and techniques, and receiving gifts during the visit.
World Cancer Day, observed annually on February 4, aims to motivate individuals, governments, and healthcare communities to raise public awareness about the importance of screening, diagnosis, prevention, and early cancer detection, facilitating access to these essential services.
