The Community Police Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters recorded numerous notable and pioneering achievements in 2023, which were supported and closely monitored by police leadership. The achievements align with proactive directives aimed at elevating police services and improving the overall quality of life for the community.
The department enhanced efforts to boost preventive community awareness against behaviours violating the law or committing crimes. It also highlighted the achievements and contributions of the We Are All Police initiative in serving the community and supporting the security system. It played a crucial role in enhancing public confidence in Abu Dhabi Police services and fostering greater community engagement in improving security efforts.
These efforts positively impact the security landscape, aligning with the goals of the Abu Dhabi Police to enhance safety, prevent crime, and promote sustainability. Additionally, the department prioritises raising awareness through various means including lectures, meetings, interviews, community councils, exhibitions, and participation in government or private institution activities.
Brigadier General Ahmed Masoud Al Mazrouei, Director and Head of Community Police Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police expressed his gratitude for the support provided by police leadership to the Community Police Department. He acknowledged their commitment to leveraging all capabilities to enhance police performance and deliver distinguished services in line with international best practices. This support aims to preserve the achievements of Abu Dhabi Police as part of the ongoing process of development and modernisation, ultimately elevating the overall standard of police work.
Al Mazrouei emphasised Abu Dhabi Police's commitment to strengthening collaboration with diverse segments of society and achieving further local and international accomplishments. This commitment involves adopting proactive and innovative strategies, policies, and institutional capabilities.
More than a million beneficiaries participated in the Abu Dhabi Police community activities during 2023, according to Dr. Hamoud Saeed Al-Afari, Director of the Community Police Department. The department focused on strengthening the spirit of shared responsibility among community members, with more than 1.3 million individuals benefiting from its various activities, events, and participatory initiatives within last year, he noted.
Al-Afari emphasised the department's commitment to delivering exceptional with the best-advanced practices, underscoring the significance of public cooperation in addressing, combating, and preventing crime.
He elaborated that the department has intensified efforts by diversifying means of raising awareness, which includes conducting visits, sending text messages, organising community councils, hosting awareness programmes and workshops, and initiating community events.
He reaffirmed the success of the We are All Police initiative, which receives backing from police leadership due to its effective role in preserving security and fostering a sense of shared responsibility among members of society. He added that the initiative aims to reinforce values of peaceful coexistence and tolerance among members of society, contributing to continuous improvements in security performance and service quality to maintain Abu Dhabi as a bastion of security and safety, recognised as one of the safest cities globally.
He commended the significant engagement of diverse communities in achieving the initiative's goals of reinforcing the values of volunteer work and promoting peaceful coexistence among various segments of society.
