In an effort to empower Emirati families, the Family Development Foundation launched a "work-life balance" intiative to help families strike the right balance between familial and workplace obligations.
This initiative, which aims to enhance family stability, reflects the foundation's commitment to strengthening Emirati families and increasing gender equality in leadership and economic participation by empowering women to strategically plan for a healthy lifestyle.
The initiative's programmes help women assume autonomous leadership roles, acquire skills that help in managing family and work responsibilities, and improve their ability to prioritise both work and family commitments.
The initiative also involves a range of workshops, programmes, and community events throughout the year, leading to the formation of mindful families and overall, a more unified society.
Cultural Programmes Specialist at the Family Development Foundation, Khadija Al Suwaidi, said: "During the past year, the foundation has hosted a series of programmes and events in 17 centres across Abu Dhabi (Al Dhafra, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain), benefiting more than 2,200 women."
According to Al Suwaidi, the foundation has collaborated with partners and external entities to implement events and programmes coinciding with days of international significance. This includes four family and work balance workshops held for ADNOC Distribution employees, activating various services in collaboration with Elshnaf, as well as organising events to celebrate Emirati and International Women's Day.
Additionally, work-life balance services were introduced on the Knowledge Platform, and were also provided during the fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi Family Forum.
As part of its dedication to promoting the importance of the work-life balance service, the foundation will continue to hold events and workshops in 2024, in addition to implementing new programmes and diverse community activities to enhance family stability.
