The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) is preparing a new generation of Emirati space experts by integrating university students into the National Space Programme in the UAE.

The initiative aims to develop students’ professional skills, enhance communication, and collaboration, and stimulate their interest in space sciences. The Centre provides a diverse array of programmes that allow outstanding students to collaborate with MBRSC, where they can present their own research, enriching their university journey.

The programme also aims to provide Emirati university students majoring in sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines with knowledge of space research and potential career paths. This year’s programme will begin in the summer, and will last up to 10 weeks. Registration for the 2024 programme closes in 10 days.

The programme targets Emirati undergraduate students majoring in STEM fields who will graduate by the fall semester of 2024. It offers an exciting research experience in collaboration with leading experts in the field on topics such as earth sciences, human health in space, protein crystal studies in space, and engineering, all conducted under the supervision of experienced mentors. Students will participate in a training camp before starting their research, introducing them to the programme’s topics and the team, alongside trainers who will guide them.

MBRSC through its scientific initiatives, aims to provide students with knowledge and encourage their interest in science. The programme ultimately aims to equip the next generation of scientists, engineers, and space pioneers in the country with the knowledge and tools to lead an era of unlimited achievements in space exploration.
