SAMI ABDUL RAOUF (DUBAI)

Federal government employees carried out a total of 913,720 self-service human resources-related transactions through the FAHR smart application from its launch in 2014 until the end of 2023, according to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR).

FAHR, in a statement to Aletihad pointed out that the application had been downloaded over 146,620 times during the same period, while the number of transactions executed through the application in the past year alone reached 254,380 and the number of downloads reached 19,700.

The application witnesses significant traffic, especially from federal government employees, as it is considered the primary platform for conducting all human resources-related procedures independently and accessing all smart official services with easy and simple steps around the clock and from anywhere in the world.

In the statement, Asem Ahmad Al Awadhi, the director of the Human Resources Information Management System at FAHR, explained that the smart application undergoes continuous updates in form and content to keep pace with the latest technological developments and enhance the level of services provided to the public. It also receives significant interest from federal government employees.

Al Awadhi noted that 47 ministries directly benefit from the services provided by the FAHR smart application, especially those related to smart human resources systems and procedures in the federal government. He said that the authority’s smart application was downloaded more than 19,700 times in 2023 alone, and 254,380 human resources-related transactions were executed through it during the same period.

Al Awadhi mentioned that the application serves as a unified smart platform that allows federal government employees to complete all their human resources-related procedures independently through their mobile devices without the need to refer them to human resources departments in their institutions.

He emphasised the role of the application in simplifying human resources-related procedures, facilitating ease and efficiency for employees, and saving time and effort for human resources departments.

He stated that the authority is continuously working on developing its smart application, transforming all its main and subsidiary services into smart modes and making them available through the application, noting that the authority introduced several improvements to the application in 2023.

Among the most prominent of these improvements are: developing the mechanism for entering the individual development plan for the employee in the Bayanati, the Human Resources Information Management System for the Federal Government, adding requests for different leave types, such as exam leave, sick leave, and study leave from inside and outside the country, in addition to applying for leave to complete freelance work.

As for the services provided by the FAHR smart application to employees of ministries and federal entities, they include: the electronic signature service for contracts and ministerial decisions, the new employee performance assessment service during the trial period, and the remote work application on Fridays.

It also provides services to view their employment contracts, sign them electronically, record late attendance and departure, issue the electronic work card, search for vacant positions in the federal government, and facilitate the application process for job seekers.

Regarding the self-service human resources procedures submitted through the authority’s application, the most prominent of them include: checking attendance and departure records, applying for leave, requesting a salary certificate, experience certificate, issuing letters for those concerned, requesting legal consultation regarding human resources laws, policies, and legislation in the federal government, completing all stages of the performance management system for federal government employees, and creating individual development plans for them.

The application offers a package of self-services for federal government employees, including: viewing and updating personal documents, requesting technical support service to assist ministries and federal entities in implementing various human resources-related procedures, searching for employees in the federal government, communicating with them via email, nominating employees within the federal rewards and incentives system, and viewing the job description card.
