Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), thanked UAE Aid for its substantial support in delivering medical supplies to Al Makassed Hospital in East Jerusalem.

This hospital, a key referral centre in the occupied Palestinian territory, received crucial assistance in sustaining ongoing health services and replenishing its medical stocks, ensuring uninterrupted healthcare delivery.

"We thank UAE Aid for their support through a $25M initiative, which enables us to continue lifesaving work in one of the main referral hospitals in occupied Palestinian territory," the WHO chief wrote in a post on platform X.

The UAE's extensive humanitarian efforts, including dispatching 141 relief flights, 121 trucks, and a relief ship carrying 4016 tonnes of aid to the Gaza Strip and rallying for peace at the United Nations Security Council, have played a significant role in mitigating the hardships faced by the Palestinian people and supporting vulnerable populations in conflict zones.
