ABU DHABI (WAM): Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA) has announced the first edition of the “Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Development Fair” under the theme “Learn by Playing… Develop by Learning”, to begin from 23rd until 25th November at the Umm Al Emarat Park.

The fair aims to create an interactive, informative and inspiring environment that improves children’s cognitive abilities, enhances their social skills, and allows them to reach their full potential.

The fair, which is the largest of its kind in the country in early childhood development, will include a wide range of distinct innovative activities, experiences and events that aim to support and enhance the physical and mental development of children in early childhood. These include more than 40 interactive, cognitive and entertainment workshops, 21 theatrical performances and 10 discussion sessions that will talk about various topics related to health and nutrition, child protection, early childhood care and education, family support, as well as events and activities for children of determination.

Thamer Rashid Al Qasimi, Executive Director of the Special Projects and Partnerships Sector at ECA, said, “We are keen to empower parents and caregivers by providing them with the necessary experience, knowledge, and resources to develop their capabilities and enable them to raise the health level of children, in whom we see the future of our nation.

Al Qasimi added: “This fair is the result of our cooperation with more than 12 strategic partners and 42 service providers to organise an innovative educational, developmental, and entertaining platform through which many governments, private, and third-sector institutions can showcase their latest services and specialised experiences in the field of early childhood development. It is an excellent opportunity for families and children to explore early childhood development offers and services outside of school because these extracurricular activities contribute to the enhancement of children’s physical, mental, and psychosocial development in a fun, innovative, and interactive outdoor environment.”

The fair will provide parents and caregivers a chance to form strong bonds with their children by participating in inclusive activities, thereby enhancing effective communication and strengthening relationships between family members.

The ECA event will include more than 50 pavilions, including the Family Care Authority, the National Library and Archives, the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, the Department of Community Development, the Department of Education and Knowledge, the Department of Economic Development, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, the Family Development Foundation, the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi Ports, Louvre Abu Dhabi, and the Abu Dhabi Media Company, in addition to 42 service providers.
