The Global Media Congress (GMC) is a unique platform that brings together media experts, creative minds, and leaders to highlight the UAE's central role in reshaping the media landscape, said Tariq Saeed Allay, Director-General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB).
A platform for excellence, innovation and knowledge sharing, the GMC convenes prominent entities, institutions and influential figures in a vital and evolving field, Allay said. "We work together via this platform to promote an environment in which pioneering ideas are generated to advance the media scene."
In the digital age, information is at the fingertips of social media users, which must be used for the good of the people and nations, Allay stressed. "Therefore, we cannot ignore the power of the media in shaping our national identity," he said. "We are going through a critical phase in the media sector, as the media and communication relationship has become deeper than ever before. It is a mirror through which we see the values of our country, its culture, and its aspirations."
