The Abu Dhabi Government highlighted its unwavering commitment to advancing technological innovation on the first day of GITEX Global 2023 through the launch of two pivotal initiatives: the Driver Emergency Alert System (DEAS) by the Abu Dhabi Police, and AI Rasid by the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADAA). Both projects underscore the government’s drive to deliver smart, sustainable technology that enhances the lives of Abu Dhabi’s citizens and residents.

DEAS, a state-of-the-art system active on major Abu Dhabi highways, is a testament to the government’s vision for heightened road security. By seamlessly merging with the Safe City system, it strengthens road safety measures and offers comprehensive traffic crisis solutions, according to a statement from the Government of Abu Dhabi. H.E. Major General Staff Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, said: “Our commitment to road safety is unwavering.

The Driver’s Warning System represents more than just a project, but a pledge to the wellbeing of our citizens and visitors; safety on our roads is paramount, and this initiative is a giant leap towards achieving this goal. We aim to ensure that every journey on Abu Dhabi’s highways is safe for all users.”

Also showcased at the pavilion was Al Rasid, an AI-powered analytical platform that promotes transparency and upholds high operational standards within government and private sector institutions, with a pivotal role in driving economic success in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

With its robust capabilities, Al Rasid applies over 200 rules to identify anomalies across more than 80 entities and offers over 20 dashboards to visualise and analyse data, empowering better decision-making. The platform has also pioneered an advanced financial disclosure system, significantly expanding the scope of AI analytics and integrating external data sources.

One of Al Rasid’s key features is its ability to immediately identify and notify users if there is a conflict of interest between internal bidding companies, suppliers, and shareholders to ensure equal opportunities and ethical governance.

The projects were unveiled at the Abu Dhabi Government pavilion, home to 30 government departments showcasing several initiatives and programmes to improve services and quality of life in the emirate. Alongside the DEAS project and SAVI plan, several other launches from a range of government entities also took place on the first day of GITEX.

Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD) launched its Insight and Foresight Platform, a cutting-edge tool for key stakeholders. This platform leverages big data and analytics, driven by AI and ML modules, to streamline government efforts, positively impacting cost, efficiency, and time across various agencies, especially in planning and policy. Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (ADCDA) showcased its T-Sat methodological training system, enabling unified professional forms to create approved reports.

ADCDA also launched Hemaya, a digital platform via which the Authority can document safety and protection measures for facilities and buildings by linking and integrating government systems electronically, enhancing the customer experience.

The Rasid Dashboard, launched by Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, enables the monitoring and managing reference analyses of wastewater samples to improve public health and safety by minimising environmental pollutants and developing prevention and response plans in collaboration with the concerned authorities.

Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence introduced the Metaverse Lab – Universal Translator, an AI system developed by its Metaverse Centre that can imagine and create any type of content to facilitate next-generation communication, entertainment, and education.

In communications, the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination unveiled its Digital Call Centre for Deaf People of Determination. This service offers geolocation, an SOS call function for immediate emergency help, and video calls at any time, providing help and support.
