The UAE is looking for a ‘distinguished’ candidate to join the Cabinet as Minister of Youth. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, in a post on X, wrote, “To our young sons and daughters in the United Arab Emirates, I am looking for a distinguished young man or woman who represents youth issues, conveys their opinions, and follows government matters that concern them, to become a Minister of Youth with us in the UAE government.’’
Interested candidates should be “well-versed in the country’s issues, aware of their society, active in their work, with a rational approach, courageous and strong in representing their country, and passionate about serving their motherland,” he said on the platform.
Candidates can email their interest to the Ministry of Cabinet affairs.
The UAE first appointed a Minister of Youth in 2016. Shamma Al Mazrui was appointed youth minister at the age of 22. She is now Minister of Community Development. This year, she was also made COP28 Youth Climate Champion.
