UAE football fans are excited and confident of the team's chances in the Gulf Cup final against Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. Young Emiratis are also hoping for consistent performances from the squad after their dream run in the tournament.
Many fans view the final as an opportunity for the team to demonstrate their skills and build confidence. However, they believe that long-term success requires consistent performances while investing in young talent.
According to Fahad Al Hammadi, the team should maintain consistency and build on their achievements. It is also important to give young Emirati players more opportunities to demonstrate their abilities in more international tournaments, they said.
"Maintaining this level of performance is the challenge but making it to the final is a major accomplishment. Al Hammadi said: "We must keep training young players and provide them with the experience they need to compete at the top level."
Hamad Saeed, meanwhile, said UAE football has potential, but more competition would improve the performance of the team. He also said up-and-coming players must be tested in big games.
"UAE football has a lot of potential, but it can always be improved. To achieve better outcomes in the future, it is crucial to develop local talent, boost performance and give young players more opportunities," according to Saeed.
Ahmed Alhosani, for his part, emphasised the significance of having a long-term strategy. "We should develop a team that can regularly compete at regional and international levels. To achieve this goal, we should assist young athletes and investments in their growth," he said.
