What better way for football's elite to chill in the summer than on a beach in the UAE! With the sun backing off after the baking heat, and the night closing in, former Brazilian star footballer Ronaldinho – full name Ronaldo de Assis Moreira – came forward for a game of footvolley (yes, you heard that right) on a Dubai beach.
Dressed in a green jersey and shorts, Ronaldinho proved he’s still got what it takes. One of the all-time football greats, famed for his dribbling skills and entertaining and attacking style, he showed good control and headed with elan, making light of his age (he is 46).
A former winner of FIFA World Player of the Year award, the Ballon d’Or, the FIFA World Cup, the Copa América, the UEFA Champions League, the Copa Libertadores and the Confederations Cup, Ronaldinho appeared to be enjoying the time away from the limelight with his friends on the beach.
With the Ain Dubai Ferris wheel in the background, the star posted a picture and a video on X. His post in Portuguese read: “Thank you God, for every day of my life. Thank you, my friends from Dubai for another wonderful afternoon, doing what I love!!!! Foot volley and friends.”
Ronaldinho has been a frequent visitor to the UAE for a decade now. In 2021, Dubai granted the former star a Golden Visa. He remains active in the game and currently plays for Ravenna FC, a Series C division club in Italy.
