Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has left the club's training camp in Saudi Arabia to undergo medical tests on an unspecified issue.
The LaLiga leaders face Athletic Bilbao in the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
Following a serious knee injury suffered last season, Germany international Ter Stegen has made just one competitive appearance for Barca this term.
The 33-year-old, who hopes to represent his country at this summer's World Cup, has been linked with a transfer this month.
Reserve team goalkeeper Diego Kochen is set to join Hansi Flick's squad on Wednesday to provide back-up for first-choice keeper Joan Garcia and his deputy Wojciech Szczesny.
"Ter Stegen leaves the Barca squad's training camp in Saudi Arabia to return to Barcelona for medical tests," read a statement on the club's X account.
