The United Arab Emirates national football team booked their place in the semi-finals of the Arab Cup Qatar 2025 after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Algeria, prevailing 7-6 on spot kicks following a gripping 1-1 draw across 120 minutes at Al Bayt Stadium on Friday night.
Algeria opened the scoring through Adil Boulbina in the 46th minute, before Bruno de Oliveira equalised for the UAE in the 64th minute.
The quarter final delivered high intensity, momentum swings and late drama before the Emiratis held their nerve in the shootout to eliminate the resilient Algerian side.
