ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
The second round of the UAE International Jet Ski Championship will be held at Abu Dhabi Corniche this weekend (15–16 November), organised by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club (ADMSC) under the supervision of the UAE Marine Sports Federation.
The event will bring together elite riders from across the UAE and leading international competitors from the Gulf, Europe and Asia, in what is regarded as one of the most dynamic and technically demanding marine sporting contests on Abu Dhabi’s waters.
Competition will take place across multiple categories, catering to different skill levels and technical classes. These include Stand-Up Professional (GP1), Stand-Up Junior (GP2), Sit-Down Professional (GP2), Sit-Down Novice (GP3), Sit-Down Spark (GP4) and the Freestyle Show. Junior categories 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 will also allow young riders to demonstrate and develop their talent.
There will be a race each on Saturday and Sunday, with overall standings determined by the combined points from both days. Preliminary activities begin on Friday with registration, technical inspections and the riders’ briefing. The first stage of racing starts on Saturday morning, followed by the concluding stage and the official awards ceremony on Sunday.
Thani Al Qemzi, Executive Director of Team Abu Dhabi, described the championship as a key highlight of the season and part of the club’s ongoing efforts to promote marine sports and support national athletes.
“In every round, we are committed to delivering the highest technical and organisational standards to ensure a safe and fair competitive environment, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s global reputation for hosting major marine events,” Al Qemzi said.
