Sponsors' Summit outlines shared vision for Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026

All key sponsors and partners convened at the ADNOC Energy Centre for the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 Sponsors’ Summit, a key milestone in the launch of this landmark sporting event. The Summit brought together representatives from across the Games’ partnership network to discuss the planning, delivery, and impact of the event, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on the objectives and expectations.

During the Summit, participants engaged in comprehensive discussions covering sports programmes, venue preparations, ceremonies, communications, and legacy initiatives. The gathering provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration and share updates, highlighting the importance of each partner’s contribution to delivering a world-class event.

Speaking at the Summit, Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), emphasised the collective vision behind the Games: “Today we meet as partners and companions on a shared journey, united by the belief that sport is a way of life and an inspiring message that extends from Abu Dhabi to the world.”

Al Awani emphasised the national importance of the project, positioning the Games as a unifying initiative. 

“This event is not just a sporting occasion; it is a national project in which we share the responsibility and transform it together into a global message with a lasting impact,” he added.

Looking ahead to the event, Al Awani highlighted the scale of ambition for 2026 and the need for collective achievement. 

“What we aspire to achieve in 2026 goes beyond individual or institutional success; it is a collective achievement that reflects the strength and unity of our sporting community.”

He also stressed the broader social objectives of the Games, including the promotion of health and community wellbeing. 

“We believe that sport has the power to inspire millions and transform lives towards healthier and more active lifestyles - and this is what we are working to achieve.”

The Summit underlined the long-term impact of the Open Masters Games, positioning sport as a strategic investment in the country’s future. 

“Our message is clear: investing in sport means investing in the future - in our health, in our youth, and in the image we present to the world,” said Al Awani.

He concluded by recognising Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as a global destination for major sporting events. 

“Today, Abu Dhabi proudly hosts international sporting events, and we take pride in being a platform for wider cooperation and inspiring experiences on the global stage.”

By aligning stakeholders across sport, health, and community development, the Sponsors’ Summit reinforced the unified commitment to ensuring that the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 leaves a meaningful and lasting legacy for the UAE and beyond.
