ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), and under the directives of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FBMA), Chairwoman of Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club, the academy has launched the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies 2025, to be held from September 11–15 2025 at the academy’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

Organised by the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the UAE Volleyball Federation, and success partners: Abu Dhabi Media Network, Abu Dhabi Sports Channels, Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, SEHA, the Authority of Social Contribution - Ma'an, Masafi, and Minimalist.

The 2025 edition of the tournament is anticipated to be the largest and most competitive edition to date, reflecting the academy’s continuous efforts to elevate the level of women’s sports in the UAE and across the Arab world.

The 2025 edition will welcome six distinguished teams from across the MENA region, including the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Team from the UAE, Salwa Al-Sabah from Kuwait, AlUla Sports Club from Saudi Arabia, Ankawa Academy from Iraq, Wadi Finan from Jordan, and 6th of October Team from Egypt.

Together, these teams will highlight both sporting excellence and cultural diversity, offering fans the chance to witness high-level performances and spirited competition.

Over the course of five days, fans will witness high-level competition, with matches taking place daily from 5pm to 9pm.

The tournament format includes preliminary rounds, followed by semi-finals and a final that will determine the winning team of the cup.

Board Member at Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, Shamsa Saif Alhanaee, said, “The Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies has grown into one of the most important sporting events for women in the region. This year’s expanded participation and strong competition are a true reflection of the progress we are making in promoting women’s sports and providing our athletes with a platform to shine.”

The Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Volleyball Cup for Ladies is part of the academy’s broader mission to create opportunities for women and girls in the UAE and the wider Arab region, encouraging professionalism, sportsmanship, and active community engagement.
