Adding another splash of aquatic adventure to its yearly schedule, Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club (ADMSC) is hosting five modern and heritage water sport championships in April 2025, with the anticipated participation of more than 1,000 athletes.
The events are part of the ADMSC's annual calendar that attracts elite athletes from the UAE and around the world.
The championships will commence with the UAE Flyboard Championship on April 11, where athletes will demonstrate their gravity-defying exploits over the waters of Abu Dhabi.
This is to be followed by the opening round of the UAE International Aquabike Championship on April 12.
The UAE's rich maritime heritage will be celebrated on April 18, as the third round of the Dhow Sailing Race (22ft) hits the waves.
Meanwhile, from April 25 to 27, top wakeboarding talents showcase their skill and control during the opening round of the WakeFest Championship.
The ADMSC Sailing Race will conclude the events on April 26.
Speaking to Aletihad, Nasser Al Dhaheri, Acting Director of the Marine Sports Department at ADMSC, said the events reflect ADMSC commitment to promoting both modern and traditional heritage water sports.
"This diverse lineup of championships highlights the dynamic nature of our marine sports calendar and the depth of talent and passion across our community. We are proud to offer a platform that celebrates innovation while honoring the rich traditions of our ancestors," Al Dhaheri said.
With a blend of both traditional and modern maritime races, the events bring together global watersports talents alongside the UAE's masters and sailors to Abu Dhabi's coast, reinforcing national identity.
