His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has honoured the winners of the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Awards following the conclusion of the 16th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the championship took place at Mubadala Arena over 11 days and attracted more than 9,000 athletes from 137 countries worldwide.
His Highness extended his congratulations to the winners, highlighting the pivotal role of the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Awards in advancing the sport and showcasing the excellence of its champions globally.
His Highness emphasised that the awards reinforce Abu Dhabi's position as a global hub for jiu-jitsu and a leading destination for exceptional talent, wishing the winners continued success and distinction across local, regional, and international arenas.
His Excellency Abdulmunem Alsayed Mohammed AlhashEmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, President of the Ju-Jitsu Asian Federation, and Senior Vice President of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for their visionary leadership and unwavering support for jiu-jitsu.
His Excellency underscored that their constant support helps instil jiu-jitsu as a way of life, fostering values of perseverance, resilience, and patience among present and future generations.
Al Hashemi also thanked His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for attending the ceremony and honouring the winners.
His Excellency highlighted that His Highness’s presence reflects the leadership’s steadfast commitment to supporting sports and athletes, while further enhancing Abu Dhabi’s position as the global capital of jiu-jitsu and advancing athletes’ journey of excellence worldwide.
The Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Awards ceremony, organised by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, honoured winners across 22 categories, recognising the sport’s top athletes, outstanding local and international institutions, and academies.
The event also celebrated partners who played an instrumental role in supporting the federation’s journey to promote and develop jiu-jitsu, further elevating the UAE’s standing on the global sports stage.
