Ihab Al Rifai (Al Dhafra)
Entertainment centres and wedding halls across Al Dhafra region have witnessed a significant rise in footfall during the Eid Al Adha holiday period as families of citizens and residents alike flock to these venues to enjoy a festive atmosphere and various activities. Parks and recreation areas also saw a considerable number of visitors in the evening hours as families sought refuge from high temperatures.
Many organisations have taken the initiative to host a variety of exciting holiday events in enclosed and air-conditioned spaces such as shopping centres, wedding halls, and other entertainment venues to ensure that all could enjoy the activities provided.
Al Dhafra Municipality organised a series of events, activities, and programmes for the public under the theme “Hayyakum Ma’ana” (You’re welcome with us). These events were organised by the Community Presence Team, and featured a packed schedule of diverse activities for the audience in wedding halls across Al Dhafra from 5pm to 10 pm.
The events included competitions for adults and children, with valuable prizes for winners. Additionally, there were activities like traditional games, a corner for local products and drawing, performances by folk bands, and cartoon character appearances.
Nizar Mahmoud, a resident of Al Dhafra, noted that this year’s Eid festivities brought joy and happiness, particularly those in the public park in Zayed City.
Aseel Majdi, another resident of Al Dhafra, said that the variety of events in Al Dhafra, whether in parks, shopping centres, or wedding halls, provided additional enjoyment for the public during the holiday period. These activities offered families and individuals a range of options to choose from, she added, noting that she prefers to spend time in public parks during the evening when the weather is more pleasant.
