Fifth Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup set to begin in Denmark on 15th June

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), and the follow-up of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of EAHS, the 5th Show of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup 2024 season will kick off at the Danish National Equestrian Centre in Vilhelmsborg on Saturday, 15th June 2024.


The fifth show of the EAHGC and the second one in Europe will be in conjunction with the 2024 Vilhelmsborg International Horse Show.


The Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup was officially launched last September and includes 10 shows held in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Australia, and South and North America in coordination with the competent authorities in each country, with valuable cash prizes allocated for the first five winners of each round.


Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of EAHS, confirmed that the 1st edition of the EAHGC saw tremendous and continuous success in multiple countries around the world, thanks to the great support of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society EAHS.


Furthermore, he also stated that the EAHGC reaching Denmark in its 2nd European show is part of the plans drawn up to support owners and breeders of Arabian horses all over the world in hopes of raising the status of these animals, adding: “We expect the event in Denmark to be largely successful just like the previous shows were, especially with a large number of owners and breeders who are keen to compete over the titles”.


Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan reiterated the EAHS' large role and great efforts to provide all the qualifications for success to produce these events in the best way possible, enhancing the UAE's global position.


The National Equestrian Center in Vilhelmsburg dates to the 17th century, it was renovated and opened as a national equestrian centre in 1989 to host international events and competitions for various equestrian sports and has since become a major centre for equestrianism and horse breeding in Denmark.


In August 2011, a large celebration was held to mark the venue’s Silver Jubilee in the main exhibition square. the area is characterised by the presence of beautiful beech towards the river with its stunning views and beautiful scenery and includes many footpaths and other recreational areas. Furthermore, this location is home to many ancient buildings.


The first show of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup for the 2024 season was held last February in Australia, with the 2024 Australian International Arabian Championship at Willinga Park in the Bawley Point area, while the Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the second show in Manama from 14th to 16th March. Scottsdale, Arizona, hosted the third show, which was held in conjunction with the Arabian Breeders World Cup last March, and the fourth show was held on the 1st of June in the Equestrian Arena Le Grand Parquet in Fontainebleau, France.
