Al Ain goalkeeper Khalid Eisa and national women’s team coach Noura Al Mazrouei have been named as ambassadors by the Asian Football Confederation for promoting activities of their Dream Asia Foundation through community engagements.

Both ambassadors are expected to participate in various events organised over the coming period. Their roles will involve conveying positive messages and contributing to initiatives aimed at fostering community development through football.

The selection of UAE international Eisa comes in the backdrop of vital performances in various regional and continental tournaments for club and country, his consistency over the years with Al Ain, and his contributions in the just-concluded Asian Champions League, including in the two-leg final against Yokohama F-Marinos. Al Ain beat the Japanese club to take the title.

Eisa expressed his delight at being selected, stating that it is an honour for any player representing the UAE, a country, he said, that is known for its noble charitable work and humanitarian efforts.

He affirmed his commitment to working with his fellow ambassadors from other national associations to convey a positive message to the Asian football community.

The Foundation was launched in 2017 as a platform encompassing various community aspects, including child protection, education, social inclusion, needs assessment, and support for projects of the AFC member associations.

Al Mazrouei also said: “My selection as an ambassador for women’s issues is a responsibility that I take great pride in, and I will do my utmost to fulfill my mission. Our nation is a wellspring of compassion, and our wise leadership actively promotes these values by extending a helping hand to those in need across the globe.”
