DUBAI (WAM)

The Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC), chaired by Ahmed Saeed bin Meshar, signed a three-year contract to host the sixth and final round of the XCAT World Championship, the most prominent powerboating event, starting 2024.

This aligns with the DIMC’s vision to attract major international championships and competitions.

It also highlights the support for the “Victory Team,” which will participate again in the championship, along with Emirati teams.

Among the attendees of the signing ceremony at the DIMC were Member of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of DIMC, Mohammed Abdullah Hareb Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the the Monaco-based Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), Thomas Kurth, and other officials.

The DIMC’s board officially approved the return of the Dubai Grand Prix for XCAT Powerboats to the emirate between December 6-8.

The announcement coincides with the successful results achieved by the Victory Team in the Fujairah Grand Prix for XCAT Powerboats, the first round of the 2024 World Championship, after a two-year absence in 2022 and 2023 for the record holder for title wins with five.
