Dubai Pro bodyuilding Championship, a qualifying event to Mr Olympia 2023, will see more than 700 amateurs and professionals compete at the World Trade Centre from September 23-24. There is a prize pool of $90,000 on offer. In his welcome note to the participants at a news conference, His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, said the event occupies “eminent status” on the world stage. “The Championship acquires great importance, since it qualifies Arabian athletes to Mr Olympia; the biggest event for professionals,” he said. Mr Olympia will be held from November 2-5 in Orlando, US. The amateurs’ category winner in Dubai will be adjudged Champion of Champions. It is also the first time in the Middle East for winners in amateurs’ category to gain nine cards qualifying them to become professionals. Winning professionals will gain valuable prize money, which is considered as the second highest for pros in the world after the Mr Olympia Championship.
