US President Donald Trump on Saturday renewed his threat to expand attacks on Iran if Tehran does not comply with his ultimatum by agreeing a peace deal or opening the Strait of Hormuz.
"Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
"Time is running out - 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them," he added.
Trump previously threatened that if Iran did not fully open the key waterway - which is vital to the global oil and gas trade - he would target Iranian power stations.
Last week, he postponed the ultimatum until April 6, after claiming productive talks were being held with Iranian leadership.
However, Tehran has denied reports of talks, with severe attacks continuing on both sides in recent days.
Shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains largely at a standstill, more than a month after the US and Israel launched large-scale attacks against Iran on February 28.
