The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced on Friday that about 20% of employees at the space agency are set to depart.
Around 3,870 individuals are expected to leave the agency, but the number may change in the coming days and weeks, a NASA spokesperson said.
Around 14,000 employees will be retained at the agency following the restructuring, the spokesperson added.
