A car crashed into a crowd at a Christmas market in the eastern German city of Magdeburg on Friday, causing multiple casualties, media reports said.
News site T-online and other media reported there had been dead and injured, while local police said on X that "extensive police operations are currently taking place".
The local rescue service told AFP that an incident involving a car had left "several people severely injured".
