The Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has renewed its condemnation of the repeated attacks on the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon.
The ministry emphasised that the presence of UNIFIL forces is mandated by the United Nations Security Council.
In a statement, the ministry said, "We once again condemn the repeated attacks on UNIFIL, and all parties are obligated to ensure their safety and security at all times."
The Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also revealed that communication has taken place with Israel, stating, "This position has been reiterated to our Israeli partners.''
Austria is actively involved in international peacekeeping operations and has been participating in the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon since 2011, with around 170 Austrian soldiers serving in UNIFIL.
