The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmad Aboul Gheit, welcomed today the resolution adopted by the United Nations Security Council calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during the blessed month of Ramadan.
"I welcome the Security Council's adoption of a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza," he said in a statement, adding that this resolution was long overdue, and what is needed now is for its implementation on the ground.
