ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairperson of Frontier25, The Climate Tribe, Aurora50, Alliances for Global Sustainability (AGS) and RESET MENA, has hosted a private majlis for a cohort of World Economic Forum Young Global Leaders at Zayed National Museum, to discuss innovation, water security and legacy building.

The Journey to the Origin learning journey began in Dubai, where delegates were transported by train to Abu Dhabi, experiencing the UAE’s latest premium Etihad Rail service.

They then headed to Zayed National Museum, where they were taken on a guided tour to experience the lifetime of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founding Father of the UAE, the roots and creation of the UAE and the natural world that supports all life in the emirates.

The day culminated in a private majlis at the museum, presided over by Sheikha Shamma, and attended by the Young Global Leaders, representatives of the World Economic Forum, and senior leaders including His Excellency Abdulaziz Mohamed Alobaidli, Director General of Regulatory Affairs at the Department of Energy;  Hamda Ali Alblooshi, Senior Projects Manager in the Chairman’s Office at the Department of Energy; and Professor Phil Hart, Chief Researcher Renewable and Sustainable Energy Research Center at the Technology Innovation Institute (TII).

Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan said: “Every lasting advance, from water security to generative AI, began with a vision that looked beyond boundaries and an understanding that connection multiplies impact.

That principle is the foundation of the Young Global Leaders community. By bringing together leaders who share knowledge and build ideas across sectors and borders, we can turn insight into solutions and create lasting change in our respective nations, environments, and communities.”

The guided conversation explored the development of the UAE from its roots to its standing as a global hub and what we can learn from previous generations, as well as new technologies and initiatives to support water security and innovation.
