Based on Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina, this dance drama explores the inner world of one of fiction’s most complex heroines.
Rather than retelling the story, the production focuses on Anna’s emotional fracture, her painful choice between two worlds: passion and duty, love and motherhood.
Combining contemporary choreography, visual theatre, and minimalist set design, the production is intimate and deeply immersive.
The production stars Vladislav Lantratov of the Bolshoi Theatre, as well as former Mariinsky prima ballerina Daria Pavlenko, a guest artist at Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch.
